Shaken up Shakespeare

Just came back from Theater@First's Shaken up Shakespeare. It was quite good and a lot of fun. Some of the raw dramatic pieces were quite strong,
gilana's acting goes up to 11, and the comedy hit home well. I really enjoyed Godzilla versus Macbeth, but maybe it is because I sat through the Porter scene so many times.
The three William Shatner's playing Orsino bring a machismo to the character that makes a lot of sense. I almost want to see the whole play done that way... ...almost.
Not surprisingly, the 15 Minute Hamlet remains the best written.
oakenguy does a fine job in his several servant role and clearly enjoys the goofiness involved.
Naturally, having seen some theater my urge to audition for something, anything, has skyrocketed. And oddly enough, I felt a pang of desire to direct. Where the hell did that come from?
All in all, it was a good night out. Recommended.
