Journal for Tuesday

Okay so here is my wonderful fascinating journal entry for a Tuesday. You may have wondered about the entry I made yesterday as it was the first in a long, long time so let me explain.



I have been writing small journal entries to myself for a little while and by writing I mean using text to speech while I drive. It works all right although sometimes text to speech creates weird entries. Anyway, what I was considering was making it an enty that is more of a public journal than a personal journal and I've been working on attempts at one of those but for the most part they require too much editing. Or maybe I just haven't had time. I don't know.



So, I managed you actually get a short entry out yesterday just to log some of the things that happened. And now I'm continuing! So. let's see, what else has been happening lately? Yesterday was a pretty decent day all in all despite the rain.



We had some of my leftover quiche for dinner and this is sort of an exciting thing. I've been making quiche roughly once a month and it's sort of become one of the go-to-foods that I cook and one of the more reliable recipes that everyone seems to like. From last night was a ham and cheese and a feta quiche. Good leftovers!



We also took a soak in our inflatable hot tub and watched some Deep Space Nine. I have been rewatching that series completely. I never did watch the whole thing when it was on. Anyway it's been pretty good and I think overall I find it particularly odd as the seasons progress. I don’t know that it ever really figured out the show it wanted to be, but it is entertaining.



I have been making a lot of spell packet bean bags for the upcoming weekend LARP and that has been amusing because I just found a whole bunch of scavenged packets as well from last spring and from the recent event. So I have a large number of these packets that I did not make but I am sorting through and selecting carefully. The interesting thing is that I don't use any of these in the upcoming game this weekend. These are all for Bess and for donations. Hundreds of packets not for me.



Anyway I am looking forward to the game although I am not at all ready to fight sword and shield. I fear that I will be in poor form. It has been a long time and it was a long time before that so we'll see how things go. I also need to find all my things for this game. I need to get everything packed up. Beyond my own personal stuff there is a welcome pavilion that I normally set up, the Hind Quarters. In the last game it didn't quite work because it was not particularly close to the players. I even ignored it because I wanted to be around people and the people were in the courtyard rather than off to the side where my pavilion building was. I am not certain how to fix that and my thought was to actually put a popup in the courtyard except then we would not have the AC power – oh well



In other news Fall has hit with a thunk. I need to do some outdoor work in my yard which is a mess but I don't know when that is going to happen. Tonight we are having family dinner with extended family and I'm not sure what I'm cooking or if I am cooking for that but I think I might have to go with burgers and dogs in a very traditional fashion. It is really simple and it definitely gets the job done and everyone likes it. I cannot underestimate that. Food everyone likes is gold.



And that is basically the state of my Tuesday. Nothing too exciting although I am looking forward to watching Ahsoka tonight and I'm wondering if I can get the kids to bed a little earlier so I can watch Ahsoka while I take a-soak-a in the hot tub because that seems like something that's amusing. Probably unlikely due to timing, but maybe…
